Hey there! Let me start by introducing myself, my name is Ashley, I am seventeen years old. And all I can say about my experience during the Hillsong Conference 2012 was a blast for me! Pastors and special guest speakers were always on a roll whenever they preached God’s word. I never wanted it to end, but sadly it had to. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be writing this for everyone to read and I wouldn’t be bringing the blessing of God from there to here.

I also had a different experience when I join Hillsong Youth JAM this year. Lights, loud music, and tribal wars took place during this awesome event! But what really captured my heart was how the youth pastors and speakers always talked about how my generation needs to step up and be the light to this dark kingdom – which means the world that doesn’t know God. So I’m here to talk about how my generation can rise up and do the impossible!

Hillsongs Conference 2012 – Youth JAM

“Don’t let anyone think less of you because YOU ARE YOUNG but be an example to all believers in what you say. In the way you live, in your love, your FAITH and you PURITY.” – 1 Timothy 4:12

Try reading that verse again. You got it? Good. Don’t let anyone, and I mean ANYONE think any less of you just because you are young. Sometime we don’t know our own capabilities and potential because we always hear all the negativity of what the world says and that brings us down. The devil uses the ways of the world to poison our potential, that includes our sight on God and to those all around you. Has your perspective been poison? If you can’t see right, you can’t live right. My parents always tell me to always guard my perspective and I didn’t realize how important it was until I was trapped by the devil’s tricks and lies.

God wants to save us from all of that. We have all heard the stories of how our leaders and pastors had to struggle and overcome during their challenges. But sometimes we’re just too afraid to put our trust in Him and take over our lives. “What happens if we fail?” “What if I can’t live up to His expectation?” “I can’t be a leader, I’m afraid of suffering the same problems as they have” Well, let me tell you something. Your perspective has been poisoned! Look at the things that are surrounding you in your life and try to look above all that. Don’t live by what you see! You’re just going to end up feeling discourage in your own little bubble, wishing that you could do more. Where is your faith? You are not trusting God enough to guide you into your calling and potential.

Don’t be an “almost” generation

What do I mean by “almost”? “I almost showed Christ into his life, but I didn’t and now he’s fallen into the world’s ways.” “I almost overcame this problem I have, but I didn’t.” You see the word, “almost” can literally kill our gseneration because we didn’t take the opportunity that God has presented to you. If you see the challenge, TAKE IT! Take it with God along your side.

We don’t want to be an “almost” generation where we doubt ourselves and do nothing about it. You won’t know how far God can take you until you begin to see the difference of how you overcame your problems with Him and without Him. It doesn’t matter how young you are or how people say that you can’t do it. If you have the heart to make a difference, don’t be afraid to take the challenge when it presents itself. Prove them wrong. Don’t be afraid to lead. He will be there with you in every step of the way. You can do it! Because with God, all things are possible!

God bless!
